I understand that CBC will be undergoing a major remodel during the coming co-op academic year.
Being part of a 100% volunteer cooperative community means being helpful and flexible! In order to keep our children safe and facilitate movement of students between classes, many hands will be needed. I understand that the Heritage community will be operating on an “all hands on deck” model!
I understand that I am expected to be on campus and available throughout the time my student is registered.
I understand that during the remodel my help may be needed every hour my child is registered. While we will try to follow our formula for jobs per registered hours, it won’t be a guarantee. This may impact my ability to have free time, but will give me more time to connect with the community.
I understand that during the remodel, some classes will be held in portables outside the MAC end of the church. I understand that other classes will be spread throughout the CBC facility: in the MAC end and at the north end of the church (worship center end, which is normally outside our boundaries).
I understand that while Heritage has made every effort to contain younger student classes, my student may need to go outside to a portable for classes or walk outside between church access points.
We don't yet know when (or if) we'll move back into the renovated space during academic year 2025-26. When we do return to the newly renovated campus, I understand that approximately 2/3 of classes will be held In classrooms comprised of completely new materials.
I understand that construction schedules are highly variable and that the start and end dates of the remodel are not set. We will remain flexible, supportive, and cooperative with CBC who has graciously allowed us to continue meeting on their campus.
